Mount Snow Opening Day November 21st 2014
What a day for skiing and riding! A very successful opening day for Mount Snow.
LATEST SNOW REPORT:
We’re expecting another sweet day on the mountain thanks to our incredible snowmaking crew and groomer pilots who all take great pride in what they do…and it shows, because all of our open terrain is in primo shape. Soft snow is on the menu for today thanks to milder temps and some light precip that fell overnight.
When lifts open at 9 a.m. you will have access to 12 trails covering 124 acres of machine groomed/variable conditions spread across two mountain faces. Corduroy is definitely in style today because our ace groomer pilots laid stripes on 11 of our 12 open trails – Nitro over at Carinthia was left alone so you can enjoy the big ole wales of snow created by the fan guns over the last few days. Snowmaking is on-hold until cold temps return.
The forecast is calling for temps to start in the mid-30’s top-to-bottom, then reach the low-40’s by the afternoon with clouds stickin with us throughout the day and a breeze out of the west at 10-30 mph.
The Gulch at Carinthia is set up with 14 features from top-to-bottom.
Lift ticket rates are $65 for adults, $55 for youth and seniors (age 6-18, 65+) and kids 5 and under are $5. Lower mountain lift tickets will be $35 and there’s no half-day ticket rate. Three lifts are scheduled run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
After last chair today we will suspend operations Monday – Wednesday before re-opening for good (weather and conditions permitting) on Thanksgiving Day.
